Mr. Wheels and the Templar Treasure
(ePub)

Mr. Wheels has been a huge smash hit in Europe for decades. 160 volumes of fan fiction (!), three cinematic releases (including one in 2023), two TV series.

But never a peep in English!

Until now.

(drum roll)

Voice One, dramatic:

In 1310, King Philip the Fair of France, ever-short-of-cash, decided to rob the Sacred Order of the Knights Templar in order to steal their treasure. He accused them of devil worship and sodomy and burned them at the stake. But actually robbing them proved more difficult: sensing their impending doom, the crafty monks had buried their treasure. And really well, too: it has never been found. And it has been the object of dreams, obsessions, and treasure hunts ever since.

And now... in a caste in Scotland, a document comes to light, according to which that treasure has been buried... in a Teutonic castle in Poland!

Voice Two, calm and rational:

Unlike the English Sherlock Holmes or the French inspector Maigret, the Polish Mr. Wheels does not deal with perverse monsters, or serial killers, or cannibals; instead, he tracks gentlemen (and gentlewomen) thieves, forgers, and smugglers of... art. His mysteries come with the sort of original settings, fast action, humor, and attractive characters you expect from a mystery best-seller but also feature something unique: each has its own fascinating historical tale in the background.

Try it. It's just $0.99. We bet you will read the whole series.

Unlike his professional colleagues--the English Sherlock Holmes or the French inspector Maigret--the Polish Mr. Wheels does not deal with vulgar serial killers or psychopaths; he tracks gentlemen (and gentlewomen) thieves, forgers, and smugglers of... art. His mysteries come with the sort of original settings, fast action, humor, and attractive characters you expect from mystery best-sellers but also feature something unique: each has a different and fascinating historical or art-historical background.

About Zbig Nienacki

About Zbig Nienacki

Zbig Nienacki (Zbigniew Tomasz Nowicki) was the author of over 30 books and plays. He spent much of his life living in a secluded cabin in the Polish lake country, which is the background of many of his novels - and is seen in the photo here. Unlike most authors featured on this website, he was an avid supporter of the communist regime, a stance which seemed to come from a strong personal conviction rather than the usual mercenary calculation common among writers of the time.
